    Red Skelton's love of clowns and the circus is legendary. Red was fascinated by them from an early age and often dreamed of being in the circus. Clowns from around the world loved Red Skelton and considered him one of their heroes. Clowns would often send him pictures and other memorabilia which he collected throughout his life.

    What: Red Skelton Camp

    When: June 26-30, 2017, 9 AM -12 PM

    Where: Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy

    Who: Kids who have completed 2nd grade through 6th Grade

    Why: To have a great time!

    Cost $50

    Campers will have five days of fun activities based ont he talents and interests of Red Skelton

    Monday: Old Time Radio Show-Campers will produce and star in a Red Skelton Radio show, tour an acutal radio studio, and explore the radio studio in the museum

    Tuesday: Clowning-Campers will learn many aspects of clowning, which was one of Red's passions, make-up, cotuming, jokes, physical comedy and more

    Wednesday: Sketching- Campers will study Red's colored pencil sketches and will use the day to learn about colored pencil art and create their own masterpieces

    Thursday and Friday: Mime- Campers will have the opportunity to study with internationally renowned mime artist JJ Jones. JJ has met and studied with both Red Skelton and Marcel Marceau. JJ will do an intensive mime workshop with the students and they will then have the opportunity to perform with him on stage at "The Red" on Friday evening during his performance.

    Internationally famous mime artist JJ Jones will perform his hilarious mime show.

    This show is fantastic for audiences of all ages! Special guests will include children from the Red Skelton Camp.

  • Dedication of Indiana Historical Marker at Red's birthplace July 14, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm Red's birthplace

    We request the honor of your presence to help celebrate the installation and dedication of the Red Skelton Historical marker.
    "The marker is part of the State of Indiana Historical marker program which is administered by the Indiana Historical Bureau"

    This dedication will take place at 111 Lyndale Ave. (across from the Red Skelton Museum)

  • Red Skelton Festival July 15, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

    Join us for the 12th annual Red Skelton Festival,

    This year, the festival will be on the grounds around the Museum. For the price of a $5 collectible 2016 Festival button you will be able to tour the museum all day and enjoy the sessions in the REducation Room in the Museum

    There will be stage entertainment from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM

    The parade will begin at 11 AM and will pass by both the museum and Red's birthplace on it's new route.

    Red Skelton impersonator, Brian Hoffman will be doing a show in "The Red" that evening at 7:00 PM. Adult tickets are $10 and childre 12 and under are $5.
