Special Skills: Many years of experience working with trade and fraternal organizations, community activities, multiple positions on Boards of Directors at various organizations and universities  

 

Bernard G. Niehaus, President

Education: AS Vincennes University; BS Michigan State

Experience: CEO & Chairman Niehaus Companies, Board of Trustees: First Federal Bank & Old National Bank; member of the Vincennes Catholic School Board

Affiliations: President, Indiana Lumber Dealers

Special Skills: Marketing including presenting training sessions; Finance- due to bank board and foundation experience; Fundraising- have headed up three capital campaigns

 

John Frenz, Vice President

Education: BS, Journalism, University of Saint Thomas

Experience: Restaurant Management 1977-1981, Restaurant Owner/Operator 1981-present, Indiana State Representative 1996-2004

Affiliations: Vincennes/Knox County CVB, Knox County Chamber of Commerce, Knox County Development Corp., Indiana Restaurant Association

Special Skills: I have served on the Board of the Knox County/Vincennes CVB for many years. I have traveled in all 50 states and many countries. I have visited museums around the world and have seen many museum ideas that work and many that could use improvement. One thing is raising the necessary funds to build, staff and open a museum, but we must offer an experience that will educate and thrill the visitors so that they will come back and spread the word to encourage others to visit.

 

 

Marilyn McCormick, Secretary

Experience: owner, Calico Corners, Director of Culinary, L.S. Ayres and Co., Recipient of  “Key to the City” of Indianapolis.

Affiliations: International Association of Culinary Professionals

Special Skills:  With the Red Skelton Museum project from the beginning, creative problem-solver, planned and designed the Museum Store, Spearheaded re-organization of Vincennes Farmer’s Market.

 

Michael R. Carney, Treasurer

Education: MS Business Administration

Experience: President Knox County Association of Retarded Citizens

Affiliations:  Board Chair Association of Retarded Citizens of Indiana, Member First Baptist Church; two terms President Knox County Development Corporation; Emeritus Director NISH Board

Special Skills: Entire professional life in non-for-profit leadership, board development, and management, long history of manufacturing to military specifications for numerous product lines

 

Dale H. Bieber, Board Member

Education: BA Accounting

Experience: software and developer of Accounting Information Systems for Deere & Company and International Shriner’s Headquarters, Budget Analyst for both

Affiliations: Board Member Shriner’s Hospital for Children- Mexico City, Member Shriner’s International

Special Skills: personal friend of Red Skelton, performed for many of Red’s Birthdays, collector of Red Skelton memorabilia and donor of many artifacts to the Red Skelton Museum

Experience: local trucking and farming

Special Skills: My wife and I have contributed and have solicited and collected major funds for the Red Skelton Museum.

 

Doug Carroll, Board Member

Experience: Education Specialist/Outreach Adviser, Project ASPIREE, Vincennes University

Affiliations: Vice-Chairperson of the Red Skelton Festival Committee, President for 10 years of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Knox County, Trustee for the Red Skelton Needy Children’s Christmas Clothing Fund, St. Vincent De Paul Society member, Graduate of Leadership Knox County (2002)                                                                                                                                   

Special Skills: “Since 1990 I have researched and helped to document the life and career of Red Skelton mainly during his years in Vincennes and Indiana for the project, Hollywood Vincennes, plus Vincennes University. I have helped to inventory and sort out items in the Red Skelton Collection at Vincennes University. As a professional writer, I share information about and publicize the Red Skelton Museum and Education Center through my weekly newspaper column published in the Vincennes Sun-Commercial. “
